Software and License Installation Instructions (read carefully)
If you are installing the software on a fresh system, simply follow these step by step instructions to install the Software and the Software License for the first time
- 1 – Download the software
Download the software by logging into your account (upper right corner) and then by navigating to the page “Ressources”. You can find the link in the top menu. Check, whether you are using a 32bit or 64bit version of Microsoft Windows, then download the correct software for your operating system. If you do not know what this is, you can safely download and install the 32bit version. Voxelworx Light will work on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 or 8.
- 2 – Start the installation
After you have downloaded the installer, locate it and double click it. You will see the following window.
Click on the button “NEXT >” to start the installation. Now this is important: Continue to follow closely this step by step instructions. Failure to do so will most likely lead to a missing license, which again results in a non-working software!
- 3 – Chose the license type / protection method
In the next window, chose LOOXIS Hardware ID as the desired protection method. Then again click “NEXT >”
Did we already mention that it is very important that you do exactly as mentioned above? If you do not select the protection method LOOXIS Hardware ID, the software can not be activated by us, unless you call Vitro and actually buy the software!
- 4 – Confirm your selection and continue the installation
If you have done as per above instructions, you should now see the following screen.
If everything is correct, click “INSTALL”.
- 5 – Finish The Installation
If the software was installed successfully, the next screen shows what was changed in the newest version.
Click again the “NEXT ” button, the following screen appears:
Click “Finish” to close the installation process.
- 6 – Start the software for the first time and Install the license
After step 5 above, the software should have been installed successfully on your computer. However it still needs a valid license before you actually can use it (See information about the License System below). Locate the Voxelworx light button in your START Menu or on your desktop, and double click it to continue.
Since it’s a fresh install, the software will not find a valid license – You will see the following window with the message “no license file (119)”. Underneath you can find a code, labeled “ID” with a button “Copy” right next to it.
Clicking the “copy” button will copy the code to your Clipboard (as if you would have selected the code and clicked on CTRL+C). Now send us the ID-code by pasting it into the form, which is located here. Press CTRL+V to paste the code into the form fields, and enter the additional information as required. Wait for us to confirm to you that your ID has been entered into our database (This may take up to 48 hours during weekdays). Once we confirmed this to you, you can re-start the software and immediately click the “Check for license software. In the rare event that you do have received a serial number from us beforehand, you do not need to send us the ID as described above. Simply enter the serial number and a description of your PC into the appropriate text fields and click on “Check for license”
- 7 – Re-Start the software
Once you have clicked the “Check for license” button, the license should have been downloaded and installed to your computer in the background. Simply re-start the software, which should now start normally.
In case of any troubles
Voxelworx light 64 bit version may be very slow with certain system configuration. If that is the case for you, please download and install version v. 220.127.116.11. If you are still having trouble after updating to the newest version, with the software either being very very slow, or the software does not function at all, with an error message related to your graphics card, please proceed to the Ressources page (you must be logged in to access it) and download the GL_Info.exe from “Troubleshooting” Section.Once downloaded, please run the tool. If successful, the tool will tell you to see the clipboard for results.This means that an information about the graphic card has been saved to your clipboard. Open your mail software and paste the content of the clipboard by pressing CTRL+V on your keyboard into the mail. Please send this mail to us with a brief but precise description of the error that you are encountering. We also need to know whether you have the 32bit or the 64bit version installed.
How the license system / software protection method works
You will get from us one (1) non exclusive, timely limited software license for one (1) PC. This license will be locked to one single PC and can not be used on any additional PCs. If you need to switch your license to a new PC for technical reasons (if your PC for example is going to be taken out of order, updated or replaced), this can be done with our help. How this is done will be explained in a separate, yet to come tutorial [Put Link to separate Tutorial here]If you are a high-volume customer, you may be entitled to obtain more than one license, for you to use on more than one computer. Contact us if you do upload regularly high volumes of images and if you do need one or more additional software licenses.A software license is granted for a limited time period (typically one (1) month / 30 days) and can be renewed a few days prior to expiry. Obtaining a license for the first time, and renewing it on a monthly basis does happen over your internet connection by communicating with our license server. There is a pop up window that appears when you start up the software a few days before your license expires, you will then be able to renew your software license.If you decide that you no longer need our services, or if you remain inactive for a longer period by not uploading any images for conversion, the software license will just expire and can not be renewed. If this has happened but you do want to continue to use our services and software, simply contact us, please.If you have other software products from Vitro in use, that use the LOOXIS Hardware ID, you still only need one single license per PC. Each license includes the information for which software packages it is good for.For Installing a license for the first time, your computer needs to be identified by our license server.
